An independent, personal reliability tracker for Queenstown's Orbus bus network. It watches every bus's live GPS position and cross-checks it against the actual published timetable, turning "the bus didn't come" into a timestamped record instead of an anecdote.
This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Otago Regional Council, Orbus, or Ritchies (the contracted operator running Orbus services). It's an independently built, unofficial tool that reads the same public data your browser does when you look up a stop.
Live positions and departure estimates come from Otago Regional Council's own public real-time tracking system -- the same undocumented endpoints ORC's own live map calls. Scheduled times are cross-checked against ORC's published GTFS timetable. Nothing here is scraped from a private or authenticated source.
Data is provided "as is," for informational purposes only, with no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or availability -- live tracking feeds drop out, clocks drift, and bugs happen. Don't rely on this as your sole source for time-critical travel decisions. This site accepts no liability for missed buses, missed connections, or any other loss arising from its use.
This site never posts, tweets, or emails anything on its own. The council complaint link just prepares something for a visitor to review and send themselves.
